No commercial dog food or treats for the moment because those foods contain unwanted and sometimes harmful chemicals and preservatives which can lead to additional health problems. Sometimes the urinary problems suffered by your dog were caused by these kinds of foods. It helps if you would opt for a natural homemade diet at the start. A supply of fresh clean water would also be of great help. When you give them more water they urinate more so the bacteria won't stay in their urinary tract and bladder. Their urine would also get less concentrated thereby less smelly. You will need to provide a lot of pee and potty time for this.

If your pooch doesn't drink a lot try giving it moist foods instead. Try to make all the food intake of your dog as natural as possible because they contain natural supplements and more nutrition for its body.
